from now, my posts will be less of narrating, more on what i think. yes, emo, whatever. still will have day to day accounts tho, dont worry.

before eoy, i was so looking forward to after it. after eoy, i feel so empty. every day there is nothing to do, just stoning at home doing random stuff. theres more time, but to do what? i feel brainwashed, as if school has made me think that life is just about work. Yet if i play the whole day, I feel like I just wasted a day, not doing anything productive. Maybe the best time is when there are no exams yet it is normal school. At least you have something to do that will make time pass quicker.

Sec 3 coming to an end really soon, and it has gone by really fast. I still remember last December holidays, coming back to school for GTC stuff and passing by the atrium with others from 01-2006. Then we saw the centralised notice boards with all the classes for everyone from our batch. Saw some names that I knew, some that I didn't; some that i liked, some that i disliked. Then it was OBS after that, still remember the long walk from our gear shed to the main area where most activities are. Also remember Seejay, or CJ, our facilitator. Details wise, forgotten already, but yet OBS didn't seem that far away.
And of course, scouting. What a big part of Sec 3, or any other year in RI for that matter. This year was the year of leadership, and I am quite glad the competition between patrols didnt affect our batch bonding that much. I am quite confident of saying that our batch is the most bonded of all, even possibly the j1s, despite their longer time together. Next year will bring that to an even greater height, and I am really looking forward to venturing. No more patrol stuffs, no more trying to get people to cooperate. We will be having acts within our batch, and I can imagine how fun that will be.
Leading Falcon this year has been a fun time, although now after EOY and the long break from scouting it seems that we didn't have much time together. Come to think of it, most of our members do not really like to stay around after act much. Sec 1s go home after saturday acts, missing out on patrol lunch. Sec 2s aren't there half the time. In the end, it is always the Sec 3s who eat together. Not sure if this is the case for the other patrols, but it isn't a good sign.

Now that EOYs are over, I have a lot off my mind, and a lot of time to think about stuff around me that is happening, think about myself, think about schooling, think about the future. Wouldn't it be fantastic if everyone is just like you, and you would be living around people who think exactly like you. No one would get on your nerves, no one would reject what you say. Life would be much more peaceful, albeit boring.
Reason I had that thought was maybe because I'm getting to feel something. I'm not sure if I have changed from the start of the year, but people seem to not like me. Not sure if it is something I did, or something I said, but I just have the feeling that people hate me. Have I become too arrogant? Too showoff maybe? I don't know, but I wish someone would tell me whats wrong. Hate it when people laugh, yet I don't know what they are laughing about. I hope that people will treat me the same as before, CCAL or not. I hope that that post won't make people change how they see me, for it is but a position.

Also had thoughts for venturing next year. I'm quite sure it will be a whole new and different experience, and I hope that I'll be used to "VU Sedia" soon enough rather than SU. For one, Mondays won't have activity as often for us. We will also be under VTL, rather than STL. We won't have SUTC, and AC. And most of all, we wouldn't have a patrol. Hopefully, getting used to all that wouldn't take too long, as venturing is only 1 year, and after that would be GC. Next year would be fairly challenging, first because it is 01's 75th anniversary (YAY!) and also because we have quite a bit of planning to do next year. Our meeting standards will need to be much higher, for anything productive to even be done each meeting. Fun is fun, but theres a time for work and play. I myself might have a problem staying focused, but I'll try. Most importantly is to remind each other, and we would all have a much easier time. While I am not in much a position to say it, having been in 01 for 3 years only now, but can see that the discipline standard is dropping, compared to when I was a Sec 1. Maybe something can be done about it next year, or even this year. SUTC wasn't good at all, so GTC better be excellent, or it will be hard to change the discipline in future.

That was quite a bit. Don't worry, I'm not emo. Just typing out what I feel. =)

re congress

yesterday re congress, boring as usual. this year had a slight change tho. first, its before eoy. boo for that. second, i have a booth. i wouldnt really say yay, its an extra responsibility. thankfully theres others to set it up =) my shift for the booth was the first one, when everyone else is in the hall listening to Dr William Tan, the one who made a record in 2005, before I was in RI. Thats really all that I know of him. Its good that my shift is then, which means I dont need to do anything at all hehe. After my shift, stayed in den till 11.40 before going to the hall for the sharing session. Expected turnout: 2 batches. Actual turnout: 1/2 batch. Cool. Cant say that its unexpected. After all it is RE Congress which actually spells "Day to Pon". Poor Cheryl Yap tho, for thinking that people really care about the booths. to be honest, people only care about the keychain.

After congress, stayed in den playing bridge till 2.45 for prometheum day rehearsal. its on tuesday, yay. get to pon 1 period of CHINESE. COOOOOOL. apparently the shield which jeremy will pass to me was given by Jin Fu's tuition teacher, Simon Eio. What a cool name. But such a coincidence that he was from RI and a teacher of 01. So the rehearsal was a waste of time, just hope i dont screw up on tuesday. Like turn at the wrong time, fall down, or drop the shield. That would be the worst thing to do.

Today was soo unproductive except for tonight. Morning played tennis, afternoon literally slept throughout, from like 2-7, which also means i did not go jogging. X_X il make it up tomorrow.

oh some good news, mugging is started and underway! gonna mug maths with amos tomorrow. haha surprising. i thought i wouldnt start until thursday or something like that. but still quite disappointed that i started so late. at least i started tho. the first step is the hardest to take.

after the whole of RLP

holy im not even going to defend myself for not blogging. im just lazy. lazy. had plenty of free time as its dmp but yea im just lazy =p

heres a list of things that has happened:
1. OIP Hue over (2nd to 14th September - http://www.oiphue2008.wordpress.com/)
2. RLP over
3. DMP (almost) over
4. spamming of carrom + spore + civ 4 + dota + whatever else

thats quite a bit, about 1 month since ive not updated. most significant thing that has happened is 1 and 2. RLP OVER! Good and bad news. Good news: im back home in the comfort of my lovely bed and computer. Bad news? No more waking up at the time when people are already at Raffles Square waiting for morning assembly and no more burning the midnight oil to la-, oops i meant study.
as a pioneer batch of RLP, it certainly went quite well. 6 weeks in total, 2 weeks overseas. fantastic time to bond with the other leaders in RI through living together, and i have met FAAAAANNNNTASTIC people. thanks for all the memories, and it was nice meeting new and amazing people. the boarding experience was also new, quite cool living around all the scholars and finding out the amazing talents they have (like in pool and piano. i do not mean swimming pool btw). and of course not forgetting the lanning sessions in shaun choo and chin jie's room every night since OIP ended.

OIP Hue 08. First oip trip of the year, amazing. Met so many new people from Vietnam, found out all the scandals of Sec 4s who went there last year, lived with Vietnamese and eating with them every day. walking to NTP, taking the coach, talking cock with the Vietnamese, hearing Bhargav's rubbish, storing photos on my laptop; i'll miss all these. thanks Thinh and family for being amazing hosts to me and choo. i'll never forget all of you. to find out more about what we did there, the blog would be useful. http://www.oiphue2008.wordpress.com/

woah DMP. first time and 2nd last time i would have this amazing 2 weeks of slacking and plenty of free time to spam carrom and pon morning assembly with all the scouts in den. going to den every day for the past week just to play carrom and i must say i have improved quite a fair bit. hopefully catch up to zunjie. well, maybe by next DMP. anyway i took only 3 modules, as we all needed minimum 42 hours, and RLP gave 18 hours. so my modules were: 1. Understanding theories through playing computer games (aka having fun and slacking) 2. Sports Injury and Management 3. Nutrition for Sports. haha no real mugging ones, all very slack. but i must say the history course is really good, people enjoy it as there are games, and the theories are also learnt much easily. i myself learnt quite a lot of theories, like marxism, economic virtualism, MAD etc. and of course the games: Spores, Civ 3 and Rise of Nations. Spore was a big fav due to being a very very new game, released early September. And now almost everyone i know plays it or wants to play it. hehe i myself have it, and i played till Space stage and didnt feel like continuing. Anyway for the other modules, the nutrition was quite interesting, learnt some stuff that would be relevant to my training. sports injury had a bit of relevance, but it was mostly meant for those in sports CCA as they had more injury, especially judo, right chin jie? tuesday, DMP will end and proper lesson will start again. BORING!

whats coming up next? EOYs of course. most people are mugging like siao now, im still enjoying myself and playing a lot. havent studied at all, believe me. played spore, civ 4, dota. civ 4 quite fun now that ive played it, wanna play again =p but i have the feeling of uselessness and zibei, when im not studying and EOYs in 2 weeks, everyone else studying. hate that feeling, but then again im soooo detached from school that i cant bring myself to study. have to wait till school starts proper. i know that its an excuse, but i need to believe in that so i wont feel so bad.

sorry for not having pics, dont feel like finding which to upload. have a good day!

shit mega long since i updated. ill start from where i left off

Week 6

wednesday went to Tanglin for RE, managed to pon Muster Parade once again. I just love Mrs Povil's timetable. Act was Mini Olympics Part 2, played soccer and frisbee, last for frisbee, soccer got we played until 3rd 4th placing then playoffs postponed cos not enough time.

saturday: went to meet tsui chuan from NAS for RE, then went to Tanglin to do the ropes and see the extension scouts, then went to MacRitchie for a recce. started at the northeast side, went all the way to the treetop walk, then went to Rifle Range Road. The walk itself was really foam, pretty tired and i was sweating like a pig as usual. Then the hike was to end for the extension scouts and rifle range road where a bus would pick them up, so for us we had to walk all the way out on saturday. Then we were very degen and wanted either a taxi/alvin's miracle/hiok's chauffeur-aka-mum. hiok's mum didnt know the place, so it was left with taxi and alvin's miracle. put them together, you get a taxi driving along the road out of nowhere. =) went to j8 and ate lunch then went home after that.

sunday: went out for lunch and also to get myself a new phone (yippeee). after lunch my mum went to shop for some stuff, then as we walking to a nearby building to get my phone, this lady approached us (me my dad and my mum) and asked us to do a quick survey. she said it would only take 5 minutes. sure enough, the survery was really quick, like 1 minute. after that she gave us 2 scratch cards and it was some lucky draw thing. my mum scratched hers, got a $50 takashimaya voucher. i scratched mine, got some grand prize thing. can either get $1000, $1000 off a vacation or $1000 worth camcorder. Cant choose what you want, its already preselt per card. so before you can find out which prize you get and before you can claim it, you have to *surprisesurprise* listen to a travel agency talk! HOORAY AND TO THINK WE WERE TOLD ONLY 5 MINUTES! went to that stupid place, listened to the person talk for like 2 hours even though they only told us it would last 75 minutes. it was about some package thing that will give a lot of discounts to future holidays. but the catch: it costs $35k for a lifetime signup. so we didnt want it, got our prize of $50 voucher and as you can guess, $1000 off a holiday. total waste of time, at least there was the $50.
went to get my phone next. Went to the m1 shop, found the Omnia, payed and all that, got it and went home. Played with it all the way back. went back at like 6+, too late for jogging so it got moved to tuesday once again.

Week 7
Monday: QM session, moved all the stuff from den to the storage area. cleaned the den, cleaned the stuff, then put everything inside the storage area, to be continued on wednesday.

Tuesday: assembly program was house meeting, watched ocean's 11 and talked with 2g people for most of it. nothing on after that, so went home early. days like this are good. but had to rush chinese website which was due on friday. went jogging, 8km

wednesday: RE didnt do much. act was QM session part 2. was supposed to be junior leadership, but a lot of people had match support so it was postponed and replaced with QM session. had a 1 hr group PT session, then QM session for 15 minutes and we were dismissed. went home, signed up for dmp, the thing screwed up a bit and i ended up with 60/42 hours. thanks. chionged chinese website until like 1.30am

thursday: after school went to look for bill tang to solve the DMP stuff. in the end i got 42 hours which includes 18 hours of RLP, so only got 24 hours of modules. 12 hours for history games, 12 hours for 2 PE modules, nutrition and injury. went to watch 881 after that, left once i completed the worksheet and the main story was over. didnt really get the story cos most of it was in hokkien. went to the library to do some chinese website stuff, then went home and chionged it all the way till 1.30am again.

friday: ndp celebration. what can i say, just the same stuffs as usual. songs, quiz, performance. ended at like 10, then i went home. did some stuff with my phone, like new applications and all that. then went to take a nap from like 1 to 6 to make up for the loss past few days. went to eat at botak jones then went home for the olympics opening.

rest of the week nothing much. had some virus in the comp cos i downloaded something wrong. watched a lot of olympics, took a lot of naps. went running yesterday, but stopped cos of stomachache. it really sucks to shit when you are all sweaty.

going to be at boarding in a few hours time. im gonna miss home a lot
